    In voice search, the percentage is even lower.

    Only the first 3 results are displayed on the phone and there is only one result given by the connected speakers.

    The reality is you are probably in the rest of the bottom line, the other 96%.

    However, there are methods you can use to tailor your overall strategy for voice search.

    From using keywords that are more suited to voice queries, to a more accurate approach to SEO based on your niche, these changes can clearly deliver the results you desire for your current digital marketing strategy and put you in the 4%.

    With voice search gaining in popularity, developing a voice SEO strategy is mandatory in order to rank at the top of search results and obtain a quality target audience for your content.

    Without proper SEO effort, your site is likely not to appear in voice searches, potentially causing you to lose customers.

    1. Think oral

    When people do a voice search, they think differently than when they do it in writing.

    For example, if someone is looking for a store for children’s clothing, they tend to type “Paris children’s clothing”.

    Whereas with a voice request he will probably ask the question in this form “Where can I find children’s clothing in Paris?” “.

    When you look at the 2 requests, you see that the phrase of the voice request:

    • Is much longer,
    • Asked as a question,
    • And looks more like an oral discussion than a typical Google request.

    This means that when you optimize your content for voice search, think about how your audience would ask questions about the services and products you offer, rather than targeting general, short keywords.

    2. Optimize the contact details of your business

    About $ 10.3 billion is lost every year just because these coordinates are missing or inaccurate .

    It is essential to keep your company information up to date and make it visible: name, first name, address.

    3. Create accessible content

    Individuals who search the internet through their phones need to get content optimized for their mobile.

    So make sure that you have readable, clear content that doesn’t have intrusive pop-ups or advertisements that can hinder users from accessing the information they need.

    My advice: use simple sentences, short paragraphs, and bold headings to separate the content as much as possible. If necessary, read my advice on how to improve the readability of your content.

    4. New content strategy: provide answers

    When you optimize your content for featured snippets  (these are Google inserts), you also optimize for voice search.

    In fact, up to 60% of voice search responses come from featured snippets  (source SEMrush ).

    Here are some avenues you can explore to improve this:

    • Create content that answers questions  (an FAQ page for example) to generate information at a very simple level of readability (average college-level reading is ideal).
    • Update your content as often as possible.
    • Use header tags correctly. Ideally, the questions should be placed in a header of type <h2>.
    • Answer all the questions you are asked through Google My Business  Questions and your answers section.
    • Generate interesting questions about your products and/or services that generate engagement.

    If you don’t have immediate content to generate questions and therefore answers, look at your reviews.

    5. Target and bet on long-tail words

    One of the most effective techniques you can adopt to optimize your voice search is to target long-tail keywords.

    SEO analysis of your content is important as is how you choose how to optimize it.

    Thus, the long-tail keywords are terms and phrases which, as their name suggests, are longer than the usual queries.

    These queries are therefore often specific and what is more, most sites ignore them in favor of shorter and more competitive keywords.

    These long-tail keywords represent about 70% of all search queries made  (source  CWS ). Of course, they are less competitive but no less important.

    Something else to consider when targeting these long-tail keywords is how people use voice search.

    Unlike a written query during a search, voice queries are expressed more like a person speaking in everyday life.
