Update. #FouadWhapsapp does not have a virus in the app… it’s a fake virus to simply hide it from you. It’s a very clever scam, and also a very simple one, as you can see from the details that the hackers’ goal is to steal your information & passwords. This is common in phishing scams, but also in this app.
There are a few major improvements compared to what we’ve seen in previous versions.
The first major improvement is the new option to lock/unlock the phone from the main ui: The option is available from the main menu of the app. You can choose to hide all buttons, options, and the screen saver. It’s the best option to hide the app… the ugly option is to hide everything, except for a few visible buttons like the Home button. Recent files, Email and Settings.
The second major improvement is the Contact name option in Settings:
If you were to go to the Settings app and tap on Phone, and the Phone icon is in the “Contact” row next to your name (which is the big blue tick icon), you would now see a Contact option there instead of the regular buttons. This change was probably done because Facebook decided to replace the regular buttons with the blue ticks for easier navigation.
The option to hide the contact name is probably very useful for people who only use one identity, or even one phone, and just want to hide their real information from all parties.
So this feature is definitely a great one to encourage people to use real identities when they sign up on Facebook. But note that you still need to have an account to use the “Contact” feature, otherwise the feature will not work.
The third & final improvement is the new option to show/hide microphone button. This is a very important addition, because you will need to have a microphone in order to use the FouadWhatsapp application.
